Thousands affected by Katrina still need jobs....To meet this need the Urban League Employment Network has created the National Employment Registry for Katrina Evacuees. We are honored to be able to offer this special program to those individuals directly affected by the hurricane and to assist the recruitment efforts of those employers offering temporary and full-time employment to hurricane survivors. What is the National Employment Registry for Katrina Evacuees? The Employment Registry is an online, searchable database of thousands of Katrina Evacuees. Each individual has turned to one of the many local Urban Leagues across the country for employment services. The registry database consists of professional and trade workers, and is accessible to all employers FREE! Why build the National Employment Registry?Thousands of hurricane evacuees are actively seeking employment, nationwide. And they need our help. The Urban League Employment Network, with over 30 cities linked together online, is uniquely positioned to help nationally and at the local level. Through the National Employment Registry, employers have FREE access to a single nationwide database of hurricane evacuees in need. Direct access to this talent pool is available online, and with the help of local urban league staff, online inquiries will even reach those individuals without Internet access. Who is a Evacuee?Any person who has been displaced and/or is out of work as result of Hurricane Katrina and seeking full-time or temporary employment anywhere.
